What's New with My Cars?
I'm adding headers to my 77 Formula Firebird.It's got a 70 model 400 w/96 heads and 4speed trans.It came w/3.23 open rear but my friend Danny gave me a 3.42 posi rear for it.My Dad paid for this engine at an auction at our local tech school! It was donated years ago by a local dealership.It had never been cranked!I thought it was stuck but it was full of preservative oil.I bought the car in 1988 for and drove it some w/the stock motor but it needed a rebuild(ran low on oil-rods knocked at startup).I've only put 6,000 or so miles as of 12/6/2000.When winter is over I'm rebuilding the quadrajet,adding the headers,2-1/2" dual exhaust w/my homemade mufflers and an X crossover pipe.
Anyone know how to adjust the factory Hurst shifter?
It has Hurst/Hatch T-tops that need seals,who sells them? May also change the cam to a 224/234@050 duration cam.Gonna try to start fixing the body and interior soon as I can.
I also have a 77 Esprit w/Chevy 305 I drove in highschool that will hopefully be next!
Maybe then I can get started on the 67 GTO conv.!!
